Have you ever seen a Sponge Gourd plant, commonly known as ’Nenua’ in Bihar?....Well, it’s a real treat to look at the green plant, covered with pretty yellow flowers, besides of course the long nenuas hanging from the creeper plant. Normally we make vegetables with the nenua...But actually, tasty pakodas can be made of the sponge gourd flowers too.
Nenua Phool Ke Pakode

Nenua Flowers- picked along with the green tiny balls that grow below the flowers

Green Chillies- 4,chopped
Tomato- 1,cut into small pieces

Gramflour- 1 cup
Rice flour -2 tablespoons
Salt- 1 ½ teaspoon
Refined oil-for deep frying
Method-

Now mix all the ingredients together nicely. The mashed banana is added to give a spongy texture to the pakodas. Now make small patties out of the mixture and deep fry them on medium flame, till light brown.
